Construction of Indonesian International Islamic University to Finish in 2020
Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Vice President, Jusuf Kalla and Minister of Religion, Lukman Hakim Saifuddin discussed the construction of Indonesian Islamic University (UIII) at the Vice President’s Office, Jakarta on Thursday, August 22.
Based on the press statement of the Ministry of Religion received by MINA on Friday, Vice President targeted Indonesian Islamic University will be operated in 2020.
In response, the Ministry of Religion would invite a number of professors of Islamic Education or Islamic Studies to finalize the UIII curriculum in early October 2019.
Such is in that framework the meeting will be packaged in the form of an international seminar or windows shopping. The aim is to get input from participants regarding non-physical needs for UIII operations.
“Hopefully with this international seminar, we will get input to accelerate the development process of the UIII campus, not only physical but also non-physical, such as curriculum, syllabus, and others,” he said.
UIII is scheduled to begin accepting online registrations in early January 2020. Therefore, the government will also immediately build the UIII portal as an information and service channel.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the UIII development, Karo Umum Syafrizal said that the target of package 3 development is projected to be completed in February 2020. Until now, the development progress has proceeded according to plan.
“Package 2 of the construction of student dormitories and lecturer houses has progressed well. In fact, the eight-story student dormitory was topped off, meaning that construction was finished. A total of 240 rooms for students in February 2020 were all completed. And then the lecturer house construction, “said Syafrizal.
