AWG Holds Peaceful Action to Support Palestinian Great Return March

Bogor, MINA – The Al-Aqsa Working Group (AWG), a humanitarian agency, Tuesday at 1 pm, will hold a long march Great Return March to commemorate Land Day in Palestine, with a gathering point in front of the Palestinian Embassy and then move towards the Embassy of the United States.

Muslims from all walks of life are invited to participate in this peaceful action.

“The theme of this long march peace action is Supporting the Right to Return to Palestine and defending Al-Aqsa Mosque. With the Long march or GRM the world will be open, that there are so many millions of people who are very homesick for their land and want to return to their land, but are blocked by a greedy group of people, stealing, robbing and even killing their owners,” AWG Chairman Agus Sudarmaji told MINA reporter in AWG office, Cileungsi, Bogor, Monday (2/4).

According to him, this action will be held on Tuesday 3 March 2018 at 13.00 with a gathering point in front of the Palestinian Embassy at Jalan Diponegoto to the American Embassy at Jalan Merdeka Selatan, Central Jakarta.

“Why did we choose the American Embassy? Because Amarika is the mastermind behind everything Israel does, even Amarika labeled and even agreed that all Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, “he explained.

He argued that Jerusalem was entirely Palestinian property, but because of Israel’s occupation and Amarika’s help, it split into two namely, West Jerusalem (which was already occupied by Israel) and East Jerusalem.

“Though Jerusalem is entirely Palestinian property, it is now East Jerusalem where there is Aqsa Mosque, but America Wants everything controlled by Israel and behind the control of 88 percent of Palestinian land there are sponsors, namely the United States. We must love the world, not Israel alone involved here but the United States is its supporters, “he said.

The Long March wants to invite Indonesians to give support to the Palestinian people’s movement in getting their land rights or what is called GRM.

“This action is not from a particular political group, not a particular political party, not even from the Palestinian government, but this is a mass action, from people everywhere, especially Palestinians in Gaza,” he said.

The target is about 1000 participants from various mass organizations and Islamic boarding schools (pesantren).

“We also invite from other organizations such as Alliance of Indonesia Defending Aqsa Mosque (AIMA), Network of pesantrens especially from Al-Fatah network all over Indonesia, youth of Islam all over Indonesia, majelis taklim also we have contact media -mass media. I have tried to invite Abdulah Onim (Indonesian citizen living in Gaza) as the speaker of the oration and he is ready to attend, MER-C also I contacted and we are still waiting confirmation from ustadz Bachtiar Natsir (AQL),” he added.

He added that Pelestina not only belong to a person or a group of people, then all Muslims must take action solidarity support this moral movement. (LT/R04/RS5)
