Police to Provide Security for the OIC Summit Starting from Halim Airport to JCC Building
Jakarta, 24 Jumadil Awwal 1437/04 March 2016 (MINA) – Police chief General Badrodin Haiti has said the security forces would extend special security to heads of state and ministerial-level officials starting from arrival at the Halim Perdanakusuma Airport,
hotels, conference venue and during departures at the airport.
“So there is a unit responsible for securing the arrivals and departures of the state guests, there are officers who are responsible
for securing hotels and the conference venue” Badrodin said at the JCC here Friday (4/3) afternoon.
Security forces will also be made to the delegates wanting to do a free program. According Badrodin, the number of personnel to be
deployed will amount to more than 3,000 people.
Badrodin also explained the traffic police will conduct a temporary traffic diversion for smooth traffic of the state guests.
“There is no road closures .. We only divert the traffic,” he said.
On the second day of the event on Monday, a VVIP security system will be in place because heads of state would be present at the
meeting.
Heads of state/government who will be attending the summkt will include Egyptian President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, as well as the OIC Secretary General Iyad bin Amin Madani.
Based on the VVIP security procedures, presidential security forces will be stationed in Ring I as the main focus, while police
personnel would act as supporting forces.
Tito said he had been informed that the OIC Summit will draw participation from 49 countries, including 49 senior officials and 25 heads of state. (R07/R01)
