24 Palestinians Dead, 232 Injured in November Due to Israeli Army Attacks

Ramallah, MINA — A total of 24 Palestinians have died and 232 others were injured in November from Israeli army-related attacks, WAFA reported, citing The International Relations Department in the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) on Monday.

It said that 21 Palestinians have died in the Gaza Strip and three in the West Bank.

Israeli forces shot and killed seven Palestinians during an army operation in Khan Younis, in the south of the Gaza Strip, and eight more were killed in three days of Israeli bombardment of Gaza shortly after the Khan Younis operation.

The rest died of wounds sustained during protests at the Gaza border with Israel, where most of the injuries were sustained from live bullets or tear gas inhalation.

In the West Bank, three Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli forces in alleged stabbing or car ramming attacks.

The report also said the Israeli army detained more than 260 Palestinians in November, many were minors.

It said among those detained were the governor of occupied Jerusalem, Adnan Ghaith, and a number of Fatah activists in Jerusalem, who were later released after posting bail and placed under house arrest for few days.

The Israeli authorities also demolished dozens of Palestinian buildings, including 16 shops and a four-story building with 12 apartments in Shufat refugee camp in East Jerusalem, in addition to several other buildings and structures in East Jerusalem neighborhoods and in Area C of the West Bank, which is under Israeli military control.

Several high rises and buildings were either totally or partially destroyed during the three-day Israeli bombardment of the Gaza Strip.

In addition, Israeli settlers uprooted and cut down dozens of trees in the West Bank, mainly olive trees, a main source of livelihood for Palestinians, in November as the army ordered farmers to uproot 260 olive trees in the village of Bardala in the northern Jordan Valley and seized 500 palm trees in Jericho.   (T/RS5/RS1)
