2019 Islamic Book Fair to Have the Theme “Islamic Literacy for Nation’s Glory “

Jakarta, MINA –   After the successful Islamic Book Fair IBF)  2018, Indonesia will hold another IBF next year with the theme ‘Islamic Literacy for Nation’s Glory’ from February 27 to March 3 at the Jakarta Convention Ceter (JCC) Senayan, ”

“The theme is expected to bring goodnes, peace and coolness, the organizing commttee chairman Agus Baswedan said in Central Jakarta, Wednesday (9/26).

The theme was used because of the current conditions, where Muslims have no enthusiasm and passion as in the caliph era which had strong determination in recognizing science, he said.

“Now, Muslims are experiencing a setback due to lack of sensitivity in exploring science. Muslims are feeling self-complacent with the past and hypnotized by the advancement of W estern technology, “he added.

He considered, if Muslims want and try again to explore science undoubtedly, they will be born again as Muslims who are superior and great.

Muslims need the ability to build three pillars of literacy such as reading culture, discussion culture and written culture to make Islam victorious again.

He continued, in an effort to save the nation’s future through this literacy, we might have been tired, ever lost. But do not give up, because the winner of true life belongs only to people who always rise from exhaustion, defeat and adversity.

“Hopefully, our efforts and hard work to develop Islam in the world, adhere the principles of truth and strive for the glory of our beloved nation, to be recorded as a charity field for all of us.
