14 Countries Send Aids for Central Sulawesi Quake and Tsunami
Jakarta, MINA – The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto said Indonesian government has received aids from 14 countries related to the handling of the earthquake and tsunami disaster in Palu and Donggala, Central Sulawesi.
“Until this morning, there are 14 countries that have been registered which clearly help. Approximately, 10 C-130 aircraft will be brought to the Air Force Army,” said Wiranto at the Presidential Office, Jakarta, Tuesday (2/10).
The C-130 aircraft is one of the important needs because of only that type could land in the post-earthquake ground conditions. “This aircraft will be very helpful to supply the needs of affected people such as carrying food from Balikpapan, so that the wheel of life begins to recover and people can calm down,” he added.
In addition, other contributions such as water treatment for water purification, tent and generator come from Japan, Switzerland, Qatar, ASEAN and Indian state.
“Several countries have donated medical personnel and equipment in the field hospital. There are also those who contributed in the form of funds, “said Wiranto.
Wiranto stressed all of these aids would be managed and accounted properly. The assistance will be on the right target, directed according to what the donor country wants and what has been arranged here.
“This will continue to wrestle not only until the emergency response but also these aids will continue to flow until the rehabilitation and reconstruction process,” he added. (AT/Sj/RS5)
