US Peace Plan to Go to Hell: Abbas
Ramallah, MINA – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas said that Israeli-Palestinian peace plan for administration of the United States (US) President Donald Trump “will go to hell.” It was revealed in a ceremony in Ramallah.
Abbas said that anyone who wants to solve Palestinian problem must begin by resolving his political aspects and not trying to sell illusion of billions of dollars.
“This Century Agreement” or disgrace agreement will go to hell and the economic project they are working on for next month will also go to hell. We say, we will not accept this meeting and the results because they sell us illusions that will not produce whatever, “Abbas said as quoted by Israel National News, Tuesday.
Abbas referred to the Economic Peace conference for Welfare, which will be held on June 25 and 26 in Bahrain. Senior White House officials said last week that Trump administration plans to release economic component of upcoming Middle East peace plan during the conference.
Palestinian Authority immediately announced that they would boycott the economic conference. Palestinian Information Minister Nabil Abu Rudeineh said that the conference would be a meaningless meeting which was part of a meaningless plan.
On Sunday, PLO Executive Committee called on the world to boycott the Bahrain conference, saying it did not authorize any party to negotiate on behalf of Palestinian people.
Abbas and other Palestinian officials have boycotted the US government since President Donald Trump decided to reverse consensus for decades by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel in December 2017.
Palestinians have also rejected the US peace plan even before launching, claiming that the plan was biased in support of Israel. (T/Sj/P2)
