UMMI Held 14th Anniversary in SECAPA Police Sukabumi

Sukabumi, 19 Ramadan 1438/14 June 2017 (MINA) – The Muhammadiyah University of Sukabumi (UMMI) held its 14th anniversary at the Candidate Police Officer School (SECAPA) here on Tuesday (13/6), attended by TNI Commander General Gatot Nurmantyo and Chairman of Central Executive Board of PP Muhammadiyah Haedar Nasir.

Rector of UMMI, Dr. Sakti Alamsyah mentioned that on his 14th birthday, UMMI strives to have a positive impact on Indonesian education.

“Alhamdulillah, today Muhammadiyah University of Sukabumi or abbreviated as UMMI entering the age of 14. We as the rector of UMMI wanst to give the best for Indonesian education,” said Dr. Sakti in his speech.

According to Dr. Sakti, education in Indonesia from year to year continues to progress. For that, it will maintain or even improve the positive trends that have been achieved by UMMI.

“Education in Indonesia continues to grow. UMMI wants to give the best. Many awards have been obtained and we will increase that pride, “he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board, KH. Haedar Nasir considers that the 14th milad of UMMI should be used as the momentum of Islamic awakening.

“This is one of the many momentum to increase the resurrection of people,” he said.

According to Haedar, the awards achieved by UMMI for 14 years is a clear proof that Muslims are at the forefront of improving the quality of education.

“We see there is dr. Soetomo who founded the hospital in Surabaya in 1924. Then there is Ir. Djuanda who initiated the Djuanda Declaration culminates in the strength of maritime Indonesia. These figures are Muslim figures,” said Haedar.

In addition to TNI Commander, was also present at the occasion, a number of central leaders and branches of Muhammadiyah and thousands of invited guests. (L/ R04/RS5)
