SOCCER SPECTATOR WAVES PALESTINIAN FLAG IN TEXAS STADIUM
Texas, 3 Syawal 1435/30 July 2014 (MINA) – A soccer spectator broke through to middle of field and waving Palestinian flag in pre-season football match between Real Madrid versus AS Roma in the Cotton Bowl Stadium, Texas, United States, Wednesday.
The incident occurred when the game entered 87 th minute where spectators began to enter the field. Security officer immediately arrested the carrier of Palestinian flag. Beside the spectator who brought palestinian flag, some spectators also entered to field asking for signature. It made security officers bothered.
AS Roma won the match with score 1: 0. The goal scored by Francesco Totti in 58th minute.
The Incident attracted other spectators’ attention. It was because Palestinians are struggling under Israeli attack which supported by United States.
On the other place, Israeli attack on Palestinians also gave negative impact on Israeli football club, Maccabi Haifa. The Israeli player of the team became target from suspected pro-Palestinian supporters.
It occured when Maccabi Haifa held friendly match with Lille in Bischofshofen, Austria on Thursday, 24 july. Formerly, the game continued normally. There was no sign of invasion from pro-Palestinian supporters.
However, the situation changed before the match ended. Fans who wore palestinian attributes entered field directly.
They chased and beat up the Maccabi Haifa players. The clash was inevitable. The Maccabi Haifa players also responded for the sudden attack. (L/SYT/P04)
