US PLAYING DANGEROUS ROLE IN ARMING ISIL: ANALYST
Baltimore, 17 Shawwal 1435/13 August 2014 (MINA) – Press TV has conducted an interview with Lawrence Freeman, with the Executive Intelligence Review from Baltimore, about the Syrian ambassador to the United Nations saying Takfiri ISIL militants are a threat to the entire Middle East.
What follows is an approximate transcription of the interview, according to Press TV report quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA):
Press TV: How do you react to Bashar al-Ja’afari’s comments? You know it seems like he is pretty much defined with the crisis in Syria as like pretty accurately?
Freeman: It is actually worse than he described. He was accurate but it is worse because really what is going on is you have a manipulation of all the religions, it is Muslims against Muslims, it is Muslims against Christians, to destroy all the nations in this region.
And in fact this could well lead to not only the destruction of nations but into a global war and the mother manipulating operations are coming out of the British and the Saudi families who are orchestrating this to destroy the nations in this region. And President Obama is going along with it and is playing a very destructive dangerous role in arming and supporting these so-called Syrian moderates.
Press TV: And of course you know Mr. Ja’afari did mention the fact that ISIL is a threat to the entire world in fact. So do you believe that in a sense the United States will face some backlashes at some point in time for its support of this group?
Freeman: Well right now there is a growing movement in the Congress which my organization is very actively involved to raise the question that Obama is violating the constitution for having US troops in the fighting in Iraq and that is now a growing movement going for the question of impeaching President Obama because of his continued violations of the US constitution.
So it is not just the backlash. This could lead to the removal of the President from the presidency in United States.
Press TV: And on the last point, we have just under a minute left Mr. Freeman, but is Obama really the problem here or is it in a sense the US political system and what it use as what is right to do in the Middle East?
Freeman: Well there is not a real clear policy of what we should do but the fact to the matter is Obama is the President, he is now putting forth 500 million dollars to so-called arm the moderates and then moderates will end up the money and the arms end up going to ISIL and other terrorists.
The United States has been involved with Saudi Arabia in training camps in Jordan and other countries which in fact trained these very terrorists and have given arms to these very terrorists.
So Obama is not the brains. The policy has been orchestrated by the British and the Saudis but Obama is kind of after this policy and therefore makes him culpable, dangerous and impeachable. (T/E01/IR)
