PKS Faction Does Not Support LGBT, It Is Undisputable Decision

Jakarta, MINA – The Chairman of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) faction at the House of Representatives Jazuli Juwaini has confirmed that his party does not belong to one of the parties called by People’s Consutative Assembly Chairman Zulkifli Hasan as a supporter of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) behavior.

He has instructed the faction members to oversee the decision in the discussion of the Revision of the Criminal Code Bill to ban LGBT.

Jazuli explained, as the Chairman of the PKS faction, he has instructed his Faction members in the Commission III of the House of Representatives and the Working Committee of the Criminal Code Bill to guard it seriously. He again said, LGBT should enter the ban on the Criminal Code.

“Because LGBT is in contraductory to Pancasila, to any religious teachings, oriental customs, and Law of the national education objectives, this is an undisputable decision for the PKS Faction,” he said.

Therefore, he invites all parties to unite to guard the teachings of all recognized religions in Indonesia. He also calls all sides to preserve the values ​​of Pancasila.

“We keep the morality of the nation’s children in order to remain good, we keep the oriental customs that are good and noble hereditary, we implement the Education Act consistently, LGBT is against it all,” he said.

Earlier, Chairman of the People’s Consultative Assembly, Zulkifli Hasan revealed, that there are now five factions in the House of Representatives that agree on LGBT behavior developed in Indonesia. But Zulkifli is reluctant to mention their names.

“The House of People’s Representatives (DPR) is now discussing LGBT law or same-sex marriage. There are at present five political parties endorsing LGBT,” Zulkifli said at the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya on Saturday (20/1). (LT/P2/RS5)
