Jerusalem, 12 Sha’ban 1438/9 May 2017 (MINA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned, in a statement Monday, the Israeli forces’ fatal shooting of 16-year-old Fatima Abed el-Rahman Hajiji, a Palestinian girl from Ramallah area, at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem on Sunday evening, Wafa reported.

The Ministry said, “During a press conference with the German President in Jerusalem yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke about the “ethics” of the occupation soldiers. The “ethics” which Netanyahu boasts emerged quickly and not far from the residence of the German President, when the occupation forces executed child Hajji in cold blood.”

The ministry stressed that the international silence has become an encouragement to the occupation forces to continue their crimes, calling on the UN Security Council and the Human Rights Council to expedite the measures to protect the Palestinian people and prosecute the Israeli occupation for their crimes.

Hajiji, who comes from the Ramallah area village of Qarawat Bani Zaid, was shot dead by Israeli police at the Damascus Gate after she allegedly attempted to carry out a stabbing attack against them on Sunday evening.

Witnesses present at the scene said that Israeli police left the girl bleeding on the floor and prevented anyone from approaching her.
