Palestine Calls for International Community to Prevent Israeli Annexes in West Bank
Ramallah, MINA – Palestinian Foreign Minister, Riyad Maliki would seek collective response from international community to prevent a wider annexation of the West Bank, that followed by Israel Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu’s promise if re-elected as Israeli leader.
“We talked with our brothers, our friends to see how to collectively react to this. If Netanyahu wants to annex the West Bank, he must deal with 4.5 million Palestinians, “Maliki said, as reported by Sputnik on Tuesday.
“We will have a different fight. If the two-state solution is being eliminated and he (Netanyahu) will annex the West Bank, then the response may not be exclusively Palestinian, but the response must be a collective response from international community,” he continued.
However, Netanyahu’s statement must be seen in the context of his efforts to win more votes in last week’s election and obscure allegations of corruption and bribery against him.
Likud Party led by Netanyahu won the Israeli general election. At present, Likud is reportedly discussing who will be the next Israeli Prime Minister, in which Netanyahu entered as one of the strongest candidates. (T/Sj/P2)
