Jeddah, MINA – The Executive Committee of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned Israel’s ongoing efforts to change historical and legal status of occupied city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif (East Jerusalem).

The OIC’s statement came at an extraordinary meeting at foreign ministerial level held at OIC Headquarters in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Wednesday July 17.

“Condemning the strongest involvement of Israel, occupying power, in escalation of its colonialist procedures at Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and its efforts to change the legal character and status of city and its demographics,” the statement was quoted as saying by Arabnews on Thursday July 18.

Israel’s demographic structure includes the recent Israeli government’s efforts to demonize historical reality by allegedly opening a Jewish pilgrimage line that runs from Silwan pond to the Al-Buraq wall (or more called the Wailing Wall) running under Palestinian houses in Silwan, south of Mosque Al-Aqsa.

Meanwhile, OIC Secretary General, Yousef Al-Othaimeen thanked the host country, led by King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for facilitating holding of the meeting.

Al-Othaimeen said the meeting was related to the escalation of Israeli population who wanted to Judaize the city of Al-Quds.

In addition, Israel also hid its monuments, trying to change its legal, historical and political status and isolate it from the Palestinian environment. (T/Sj/P2)
