Kathmandu,18 Rajab 1436/7 May 2015 (MINA) – The international humanitarian agencies, Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) and The Association facer Rimba and Mountaineering (Wanadri) in the first mission of the earthquake disaster relief in Nepal, will provide medical assistance at the worst earthquake area, Sindhupalcowk.

Three members of the team, dr. Hadiki Habib, Islamiyah Samaun and Rita Tambunan on Wednesday (6/5) met the Chief of Kanthipur Hospital, dr. Budhiman,to conduct their medical aid activity in Sindhupalcowk.

According to the Chairman of the MER-C Wanadri First Team, Saleh Soedrajat, the team’s departure based on Viktor reports, a member of BNPB section Disaster Relief Plan (DRP), who claimed many victims fell in Sindhupalcowk region, northeast of Kathmandu, about five hours by road trip.

The team successfully coordinated with dr. Budhiman by giving permission for the First Team to perform medical  aid in Sindhupalcowk.

Sindhupalcowk is a town in the northwest of Kathmandu. It takes six hours by road (car) from kathmandu to reach the area.

The plan of the First Team of MER-C and Wanadri tp perform medical assistance in the town until May 14, 2015. “The team will return back to Kathmandu the next day, because its permit only for seven days,” he explained.

Meanwhile, according to reports from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) for Nepal, emergency hospital in the District Satungal, three hours by road from Kathmandu, has been operated on Tuesday (5/5).

The emergency hospital will operate effectively for three months considering the number of victims in the region.

Operating in a radius of 15 kilometers, this field hospital is in an area where 30,000 people live. At the hospital, in addition to bone surgery services, there is also a general medical services.(L/P008/R04)
