MAPIM President Called on Muslim to Pray for Food Flotilla Volunteers
Malaka, 7 Jumadil Awwal 1438/ 4 February 2017 (MINA) – President of Malaysian Consultative Council for Islamic Organization (MAPIM), Mohammed Azmi Abdul Hamid called on Muslim arround the world to mention the safety of volunteers of Food Flotila To Myanmar during their mission to give aids to refugees in the country.
“We hope that all Muslims pray for this mission holy purpose,” he told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Saturday.
Azmi stressed the importance of the Muslim unity for this mission, as he expected supports.
“The effort that started with the intention to help our brothers starting from looking for its funding, ship, but which most of the help of God and the ease of which will be given to Muslim ummah by praying for their brothers and sisters as one,” he said.
At least 14 countries joined in the humanitarian aid mission to Myanmar. the mission involved 195 volunteers, including 150 from Malaysia, as the host.
President of 1Malaysia Putera Club (KP1M) Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim said about 2,300 tonnes of donation items including food, clothing and hardware would be taken there and distributed among the Rohingya people in Myanmar.
“In addition we will also bring 40 physicians, several priests and monks on this mission,” said Abdul Azeez.
The humanitarian ship is expected to arrive at February 6, in Yangon, where Muslim minorities live marginalised.(L/RE1/P02)
