KSA Foreign Aid Worth $84.7 Billion, Benefiting 79 Countries -Al-Rabi’ah Says,

Warsaw, MINA — Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabi’ah, Advisor at the Royal Court and Supervisor General of King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief), stressed the outstanding contributions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), in the field of humanitarian aid and relief, announcing that KSA foreign aid amounted to $84.7 billion between 1996 and 2018, benefiting as many as 79 countries, SPA reported.

This was unfolded, during a symposium which has been held here on Friday, at the University of Warsaw, as he addressed the seminar, in the presence of Saudi Ambassador to Poland Mohammad bin Hussain Madani; Yemeni Ambassador to Poland Mervet Mujalli and a number of officials.

At the outset of the Symposium, Al-Rabi’ah said that KSA is keen on maintaining the security and stability, around the world, especially, in Yemen, as he conveyed the greetings of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH Crown Prince and expressing happiness on visiting Poland.

KSrelief Supervisor General added that the KSrelief provided 482 projects worth $1.924 billion, benefiting 42 countries, pointing out that the Kingdom plays host to 561,911 Yemeni visitors (refugees), 283,449 Syrian visitors (refugees) and 249,669 Rohingyas, as well.

Dr. Al-Rabi’ah said that upon the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, the KSrelief was able to establish the first platform, in the region, the Saudi Aid Platform, to be an accurate and reliable reference that provides information and guides to researchers and media men about the Kingdom’s foreign contributions.

Total Saudi aid to Yemen, since 2015 till now, amounted to $11.18 billion, adding that KSrelief carried out 249 projects, in Yemen, in partnership with 80 UN, international and local non-governmental organizations, Al-Rabi’ah stated.

KSrelief’s response to the appeal by the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF with $66.7 million to combat cholera outbreak, he announced, mentioning the projects allocated by the KSrelief for women, in Yemen, since 2015, have reaching 132 projects worth $281,457,000, while allocated projects for the children, in Yemen, reached 136 projects worth $469,867,000.

Saudi Project for Landmine Clearance (MASAM) conducted by more than 400 specialists to remove landmines through 32 teams, working within the Yemeni territory, he explained, pointing out that the cost of the project stood at $40 million, benefiting 9 million Yemenis.

KSrelief’s program to rehabilitate Yemeni children, who were recruited by the Houthi militias, is currently rehabilitating 2000 of them, he stressed, shedding light, on the other hand, on the Saudi national program for the separation of Siamese conjoined twins.

That program has reached such a level of global excellence because of the continuous support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and HRH the Crown Prince, directed to the health sector, he reiterated, concluding by citing the number of separation program, which has reached 46 successful operations, to the advantage of about 21 countries, from all over the world.
