Jeddah, 29 Shawwal 1436/14 August 2015  (MINA) – A Saudi scholarship student has made her country proud by graduating with an LLB from Swansea Uneivrsity’s College of Law.

Hailing from Riyadh, Jood Al-Harthi, 21, credited her achievement to her family’s support, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program, and her own drive to succeed, Arab News Agency quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

According to a report on Swansea University’s website, Al-Harthi made the most of her time at the university and also completed various internships, including ones at the UN, with a federal judge in California, with a nonprofit organization and several legal firms. “She found that each internship was a unique learning experience having its own challenges, but she met each one with enthusiasm and hard work,” said the report.

Al-Harthi chose to study law as she was interested in how it regulates society not only locally, but nationally and internationally. She decided to study at Swansea University “due to its welcoming community of international students and busy calendar of social events.”

She said she loved the university’s campus facilities and its location meant that she often found herself taking walks after classes, reading a novel by the beach between breaks, and having lunch picnics with friends.

“Experience after experience has proved to me that in choosing to study law at Swansea University has opened several doors of opportunities,” she was quoted a s saying in the report. “I am now confident in the ambitious future goals I wish to pursue. I know that I will continue to appreciate the endless aspects, fields and positions that my law degree has empowered me with.”

Dr. Stuart MacDonald, criminal law lecturer and work placement co-ordinator, said, “Jood has truly made the most of the opportunities that the university has offered and exemplifies Swansea’s commitment to student employability.” (T/Imt/R04)
