Jerusalem, MINA – The Israeli occupation police have issued orders banning Jerusalemite activists Hinadi al-Halawani and Khadija Khuwais from entering the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound for one week, PIC reported.
According to the orders, both activists will also face an additional six-month ban once the current restriction expires.
Halawani said Monday that Israeli police officers raided her home in the Wadi al-Joz neighborhood of east Jerusalem and her husband’s store on Sultan Suleiman Street, before summoning her to appear at the Qishla police station in the Old City.
Halawani and Khuwais are well-known Jerusalemite activists and educators at Al-Aqsa Mosque. They have long been subjected to harassment, repeated arrests, interrogations, and assaults by Israeli police and intelligence forces.
