Israeli Bullets Injury 67 Palestinians on Great March of Return
Gaza, MINA – As 67 Palestinians were injured by live ammunition and rubber bullets of Israeli forces on the weekly activities of the Great March of Return in Gaza Strip on Friday, August 16.
Dozens of protesters suffer from shortness of breath due to inhalation of tear gas fired by Israeli forces. Some of the injured were taken to hospitals and many more were treated at field hospitals.
More than 300 Palestinians have been killed and as 17,500 others the Great March of Return since March 30, 2018.
The weekly protest calls for lifting of the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip and returns of Palestinian refugees to their homes in Palestine.
Great March of Return is a campaign composed of a series of protests was launched at the Gaza Strip, near the Gaza-Israel border. The protests demanded that Palestinian refugees and their descendants be allowed to return to the land they were displaced from in what is now Israel. They were also protesting the blockade of the Gaza Strip and the moving of the United States Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Violence during the protests has resulted in the deadliest days of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict since the 2014 Gaza War. (T/Sj/P2)
