Israel Builds 65 KM Overground Fence Around Gaza

Gaza Strip, MINA – Israel’s Defense Ministry on Sunday announced that it will be built a 65-kilometer overground fence around the blockaded Gaza Strip.

The Ministry of Defense, in a statement said, construction began on Thursday, according to Anadolu Agency.

“The barrier with 65 kilometers long and six meters high will be built in the border from Kerem Shalom in the south and connected to a new sea barrier by Israel,” he added.

Earlier this year, Israel had announced the construction of a sea barrier aimed at preventing sea infiltration nearing completion, seven months after construction began.

According to the ministry, a barrier above the ground is part of Israel’s intelligent underground fence to detect tunnels.
