ISF Executes USD 27 Million Projects in Palestine

Jeddah, MINA – The Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF) announced on Wednesday that numerous developing projects have been approved and executed in Palestine, with a total cost that reached USD 27 million, since its establishment in 1976.
The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, was quoted by KUNA as saying in a statement that ISF has contributed in many projects in Palestine, in which it supports the persistence and struggle of the Palestinian people.
Over USD 18 million was presented to support the Palestinian people during disasters and catastrophes through the Emergency Committee, in addition to contributing to the construction of mosques, schools and hospitals with over USD four million, the statement added.
Moreover, ISF devoted attention to support the educational sector by supporting the universities and scientific research centers in Palestine with over USD 1.5 million, the statement added.
The ISF also participated in funding many Islamic, social and cultural projects in Palestine with over USD 2.5 million, the statement said. Al-Othaimeen hailed efforts made by the Fund’s Executive Committee, for the support given to Palestine and its people and urged them to keep it up and continue to support the Fund’s activities and its financial resources in order to enable it to carry out its duties.
The OIC and ISF will continue to cooperate with the Islamic Development Bank and the Member States to support Palestinians and enable them to maintain their stability in order to build their independent State institutions to enhance the economic and social development process in the country.
