International Islamic Expo 2016 Opened in Jakarta

Jakarta, 27 Muharram 1438/28 October 2016 (MINA) – The International Islamic Expo 2016, an exhibition on Hajj and Umrah services and sharia tourism, was held at the Assembly Hall of the Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, Jakarta, which will last for three days from Friday to Sunday (October 28-30).

Chief Executive Exhibition, Rudianto Prasetiadi said that the event is meant to socialize travel agencies offering Hajj and Umrah services that are safe and reliable.

“This event also aims to strengthen cooperation among Islamic institutions from various countries around the world, including the involvement of Islamic financial institutions in this sector,” said Rudianto.

Meanwhile, Member of the Financial Service Authority (FSA) Commissioner Board Prof. Ilya Avianti praised the organizing of the event, saying it is part of sharia socialization in general.

“This expo is of course very important, given Islamic institutions began to show progress in various fields, such as  sharia tourism, Islamic fashion, halal products, sharia banking,” he said.

With this event, Ilya expressed the hope that Islamic financial can make a real contribution to the country’s society that is predominantly Muslim.

“Islamic finance industry is the main economic product of sharia,” she said.

According to her, it influences people’s life as its urgency is increasingly realized by community. “We are confident with the cooperation of all elements the shariah compliant economy will be felt its benefits by  the people of Indonesia,” she said. (L/R04/R07)
