International Chemicals’ Experts Enter Douma

Amman, MINA — The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons team entered the town of Douma in East Ghouta on Tuesday, KUNA reported, citing the state-run Syrian Television said.

The team arrived in Syria on April 14 and held talks with Syrian officials, with participation of Russian officers. Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Al-Moqdad, who led he talks with the international experts, said the team mission would be facilitated.

Douma reportedly was targeted with a chemical attack on April 7 leaving scores of people killed, injured or suffering from suffocation.

Both the Syrian regime and the opposition have traded accusations as which party was responsible for the deadly attack.

The United States, France and Britain have carried out an air strike in retaliation, targeting suspected chemical ordnance sites and laboratories in Syria.(T/RS5/RS1)
