Indonesian First Hajj Contingent Lands in Medina

Medina, MINA – Indonesian first Hajj Contingent from Surabaya Embarkation (SUB 1) arrived safely at Amir Muhammad bin Abdulaziz International Airport, Medina on Saturday July 6 at around 09.00 local time.

The group consisting of 449 pilgrims from Magetan arrived early at 10:00 Medina time.

The arrival of the first pilgrims from Indonesia was welcomed Indonesian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Agus Maftuh, Head of Daker of Arsyad Hidayat Airport, and another Saudi Arabian Hajj Organizing Committee (PPIH).

Agus said welcome to the pilgrims. He and pilgrims were servants of the congregation.

“Don’t hesitate to ask for help because we are long-term service. Serving pilgrims is an honor for us, ” Agus said in press release of Indonesian Ministry of Religion on Sunday, July 7.

From the results of monitoring of the Hajj Media Center team (MCH), the process of arrival of pilgrims took place quite quickly because the congregation did not need to wait for the luggage suitcase. After welcoming ceremony, they were immediately directed to the pavilion to wait for the bus that would deliver congregation to hotel.

Based on data from Information System and Computerized Integrated Hajj (Siskohat), of 449 pilgrims from Magetan, 2 of them used walking sticks and 8 others used wheelchairs. The oldest congregation is Sukinah, 93 years old.

The officers carry out their respective roles. They work together to serve all the worshipers who come. Some help wearing unisex masks that push pilgrims to the pavilion.

One of the pilgrims from Magetan, Siti Maesaroh (57) said she was happy to have arrived in the Holy Land. The middle-aged woman who is still active as the Principal in one of junior high schools in Magetan departs for the holy land with her husband after waiting for nine years.

“Thank Allah, the trip is comfortable, I don’t feel tired,” he said.

After the immigration process, the pilgrims boarded by bus to dispatch Ishraq Al-Bustan Hotel in sector 3 where they stayed while in Medina. (T/Sj/P2)
