Indonesian Entrepreneurs Support Utilization of Roof Solar Energy
Jakarta, MINA – A number of Indonesian Entrepreneurs support the Million Solar Roof National Movement (GNSSA) by installing rooftop solar power plant (PLTS) system in office buildings and their respective facilities.
A total of 13 business leaders such as Tokopedia, Ciputra World 2, Wisma 76 and others support GNNSA by signing a commitment at Tokopedia Tower Auditorium in Jakarta, Thursday June 20.
Chairman of Indonesian Solar Energy Association (AESI) & GNSSA Declarator Andhika Prastawa said that Indonesia was feared to experience an energy crisis in the next 30 years. Indonesia has been a net oil importer since 2004 and threatened to become an energy importer in 2032.
Therefore, AESI and Xurya, a local startup as a provider of rooftop solar power services, invited business people to use alternative energy to avoid energy crises and reduce CO2 emissions by accelerating the construction of roof PLTS in office buildings, malls, government and public facilities.
“Solar energy has the greatest potential compared to other New and Renewable Energy. “More than 200,000 MW and installed capacity per 2018 are still MWp,” explained Andhika during the Press Conference in Jakarta, Thursday.
According to him, the number is still small, considering the extent of solar energy in this country and its simple nature and its utilization is still far behind European countries, even with Thailand and the Philippines.
Meanwhile, Eka Himawa, Founder of Xurya also said that the efficiency of use of roof PLTS if calculated and operated carefully, the savings for businesses and industries amounted to 30 percent.
Xurya as a procurement, operational and maintenance service for rooftop PLTS systems in Indonesia, provides convenience for prospective users, by getting the option to be released from the initial payment obligation until the user feels the benefits of installing roof PLTS.
For example, the industrial sector has benefited from rooftop PLTS, including startup companies Tokopedia and Ciputra World 2. Both have stimulated the power plant devices on the roofs of their buildings and offices.
Tokopedia’s VP of Corporate Communications, Nuraini Razak hopes that it can be a step forward in encouraging the development and implementation of renewable energy in Indonesia while supporting government efforts.
“Tokopedia as an Indonesian technology company always supports alternative technological developments with local innovators, one of them is Xurya,” Nuraini said at a press conference.
Meanwhile, Director of PT Ciputra Property TBK supports the installation of roof PLTS which has been tested for its efficiency in energy conservation. “Tokopedia-Ciputra World 2 solar panel has been going well and without interruption in its operational system,” he said.
He added that the roof PLTS module-installed was 13.4 kWp or equivalent to the amount of electricity for 342 houses in Indonesia. (L/Sj/P2)
