Indonesia-Turkey Enhance Cooperation To Overcome Terrorism

Jakarta, 13 Rabi’ul Akhir 1437/23 January 2015 (MINA) – In a sideline of Ministerial Conference, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Jeddah, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Retno L.P Marsudi and the Foreign Minister of Turkey Melvut Cavusoglu, agreed  to enhance cooperation of both countries to overcome terrorism.

The both Foreign Ministers agreed to have more intensive communication between the intelligence and law enforcement agencies to exchange information. The official release of Foreign Affairs Ministry stated as received by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Saturday.

According the Turkish Foreign Minister, the Indonesian efforts to build mutual trust in the Middle East will give a positive energy to the recent situation.

Concerning to the situation in the Middle East, the two ministers stressed the importance of peaceful relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran for regional peace and security.

The good relations between the two countries are needed to resolve the various conflicts in the region and overcome terrorism and extrimism.

In this case the Turkish Foreign Minister welcomes the initiative taken by Indonesia.(TL/P008/R03)
