Hamas Delegation Meets With Russian Officials in Moscow

Moscow, MINA – A Hamas delegation has met on Tuesday with Russian officials in Moscow in the first meeting of its kind.

The Hamas delegation was headed by Mousa Abu Marzouk, Deputy Head of Hamas’s Political Bureau. It also included each of Saleh al-Arouri, Husam Badran and Sami Khater who are all members of the Bureau, PIC reported.

Badran said earlier that a delegation of his Movement was going to visit Moscow on September 18 in order to hold talks on the Palestinian situation and the Israeli occupation ceaseless measures against the Palestinian people. The Israeli decade-long siege on Gaza is one of the key issues to be discussed in the meeting, Badran pointed out.

The Hamas visit to Cairo followed a meeting between Abu Marzouk and the Russian Ambassador to Cairo Sergei Kiribchenko last Tuesday. Abu Marzouk acquainted the Russian diplomat with the latest developments on the Palestinian reconciliation issue and his Movement’s efforts exerted in this regard.(R/R04/RS5)
