Governor Anies Inaugurates “Kick Off” Jakarta International Stadium’s Construction

Jakarta, MINA – The Governor of DKI Jakarta Province Anies Baswedan symbolically performs a “Kick Off” (Beginning) as a marker for building the stadium of the Capital City, Jakarta International Stadium in the Sports Recreation Facility, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Thursday.

The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the BUMD PT Jakarta Propertindo (Jakpro) followed up on its commitment to developing the world-class Integrated Sports Zone.

“Today is a historic day that is happy and proud for all of us. Today Jakarta starts a new chapter in this place, Jakarta International Stadium will become the first world-class football stadium in Indonesia, “Anies said in his speech.

Anies also said that the construction of the international stadium would be completed in around two and a half years or later in 2021.

“The journey of the development is long and winding, (for that) I appreciate all those who have been involved in the process of building this stadium,” said Governor Anies.

The Jakarta International Stadium located in a very strategic location in the North Jakarta area, with an area of ​​around 221,000 m2 which can be reached using four public transportation, such as Commuterline, Transjakarta, LRT, MRT. In addition, the location of the stadium is also through the inner and outter ring road high way so that it adds to the strategic value of the area.

With the establishment of a stadium with a capacity of 82,000 spectators, DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will have three international standard sports facilities, namely Jakarta International Velodrome, Jakarta International Equistrian Park, and Jakarta International Stadium.

There are excellent features of the Jakarta International Stadium such as, gave special attention to the people with disabilities by providing 200 seats, 24 lots of vehicle parking, 25 locations for disabled special toilets.

It also equipped with Roof Open-Close, this feature is provided so that the stadium can also be used for indoor performance activities, such as music concerts.

In addition to accommodating sports functions, the construction of the stadium also pays attention to social functions for the surrounding community, such as providing an area with an urban farming function.

The integration of public open spaces in the stadium area with the North Lake Sunter area also makes the stadium area a location for water tourism, thus creating an atmosphere of sports facilities that in harmony with nature.
