France Again Condemns Israeli Settlement Plans

Paris, 03 Muhrram 1438/04 October 2016 (MINA) – France on Monday condemned another Israeli decision to expand illegal settlements and build new settlements in occupied Arab land in East Jerusalem and in the West Bank areas of Palestine KUNA reported.

A statement from the French Foreign Ministry said that Paris “condemned the recent approval of settlement plans to build 98 housing units near the Shilo settlement in the north of the West Bank.”

The French statement also criticised a decision by Israel to create “an industrial zone near Ramallah,” the leadership centre for the Palestinians in the West Bank.

“France recalls that settlements are illegal in the eyes of international law and they weaken the two-State solution which remains the only solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” the Foreign Ministry said.
