Baku, 6 Ramadhan 1436/23 June 2015 (MINA) – – The Ukrainian Muslim Organization, in collaboration with the Association of Crimean Tatars, will organize a competition for memorizing and reciting Qur’an during the blessed month of Ramadan.

Speaking to Crimea Facts website, Sheikh Aleemdar Khairallaev said: “We are planning to organize a competition in our cultural center for men on 27 Ramadan, and another one for women the following day.

The competition aimed at the encouragement of Muslims in Ukraine and Crimea to learn and memorize some short surahs of the Qur’an, the imam said, IINA quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

He pointed to the increased interest in learning and memorizing the Holy Qur’an in the Crimea and Ukraine, especially among the children.

The competition organizers will hold a prize distribution ceremony to distribute the awards among the winners during Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.

The Ukrainian experts on the Scripture in the month of Ramadan for several years in a row take part in various international competitions of reading of the Quran by heart, the press-service of the AUASO “Аlraid” informs.

Now, Ukraine, together with the other countries, has possibility to take part in the international competitions on the Quran reciting that to a certain extent promotes strengthening of its authority in the Muslim world.(T/R05/R03)
