ABBAS CONGRATULATES WORLD, PALESTINIANS ON MUHAMMAD BIRTH AND X’MAS
Ramallah, 13 Rabiul Awwal 1437/25 December 2015 (MINA) – President Mahmoud Abbas Thursday congratulated Palestinians, Christians and Muslims, Arabs and the world for the occasion of the birth of Jesus and the birth of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon them, which coincided for the first time in centuries.
In a message, Abbas took the opportunity to shed some light on the impact of Israeli occupation on Palestinians in general and the Christian community in specific, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) quoted WAFA news as reporting.
He said, “Palestinians will celebrate Christmas surrounded by eighteen illegal settlements and an annexation wall, which are taking over their land. And yet, Palestinians continue to defy the daily oppression imposed by their occupier with steadfastness and love for their country.”
Abbas prayed for the end of the Israeli occupation and Apartheid in order to bring back to life justice in Palestine.
“I salute all Palestinians wherever they are, hoping for the day that they will be able to live, worship and be free in their homeland,” he said. (T/R07/R01)
