Jakarta, 3 Sya’ban 1438/30 April 2017 (MINA) — Jakarta elect Governor Anies Baswedan Saturday described relations between Indonesia and Kuwait “role model” of ties among countries.

Indonesia “is eager to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in different spheres,” Baswedan said.

He was speaking to KUNA after a meeting with visiting Sheikha Mariam Al-Sabah, spouse of late Sheikh Ali Sabah Al-Nasser Al-Sabah, who was leading a delegation from the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO).

Baswedan said he was ready to provide all types of facilities to all people from Kuwait working in humanitarian missions.

He said he was looking forward to visiting Kuwait in near future.

Sheikha Mariam hoped the meeting with Baswedan would contribute to further cooperation with Indonesia in philanthropic domain.

She said the visit of the IICO relief team was successful.

Sheikha Mariam opened a number of humanitarian projects in Indonesia: an eye project for the blind, and other ventures in Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Village. (T/RS5/RS1)
