Ramallah, 17 Rabiul Akhir 1437/27 January 2016 (MINA) – The Arab League announced, in a statement Tuesday, that the government of Saudi Arabia has transferred $60 million to support the Palestinian Authority’s budget for the last three months in 2015.

The league said it had received a memorandum from Saudi Arabia’s permanent delegation to the League proclaiming that the Saudi Fund for Development had transferred $60 million to the PA, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) quoted WAFA as reporting.

The statement noted that with this financial transfer, Saudi Arabia has honored its financial commitments to the PA for the months of October, November and December in the fiscal year 2015.

Saudi Arabia is one of the largest providers of aid to the Palestinian people.

Unlike aid from other nations, Saudi Arabian aid to Palestinians was not disrupted by the election of Hamas. (T/R07/R01)
