Gaza, 5 Dzulhijjah 1435/29 September 2014 (MINA) – The Islamic resistance movement Hamas has strongly reiterated its stance on refusing to negotiate directly with Israel.

Hamas leader Yahya Moussa as saying on Sunday that, “The movement does not look to the path of negotiations with Israel as a way to resolve the conflict and restore the rights [of Palestinians],” Middle East Monitor (MEMO) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.

Moussa further explained that “Others have experimented with negotiations and they resulted in nothing for the benefit of the Palestinian cause,” adding that the media reports which claim that the movement is ready to negotiate with Israel are untrue.

He stressed that Hamas wholly adopts the approach of resistance, which represents the only way to end the occupation of Palestine, confirming that the movement is thinking only of developing and protecting the resistance to confront the occupation and its arrogance.

Moussa stressed that, “Only through resistance will the Israeli occupation listen to our conditions, whereas negotiations have proven to be a failure and will only bring us more destruction and a further loss of rights.”

According to Anadolu, Egypt’s Al-Shorouk newspaper quoted a source on Sunday who alleged that a high profile Hamas leader said that the group is currently working on the completion of a series of internal discussions related to the current political scene, negotiations with Israel and assessing the military situation after the recent war.(T/R05/R03)
