UN Calls on Israel Not to Endanger Lives of Palestinians

New York, MINA — UN Secretary General spokesperson Stephane Dujarric stressed the Israeli forces should guarantee not to endanger the lives of Palestinian civilians, mainly children, kUNA reported.

This came in a press briefing by Dujarric on Friday, adding that the United Nations is closely following up the incidents in the Gaza Strip.

He stressed the need not to use excessive force by the Israeli forces against Palestinian protestors.

Dujarric added that UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Nikolay Mladenov and his team are in contact with all concerned parties to contain situation there.

Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip registered on Friday the martyrdom of eight Palestinian people, including a child, and the injury of 1070 others.

For the 8th day in a row, hundreds of Palestinian people have been protesting against the Israeli occupation forces near the border fence between Gaza and Israel, as part of their participation in the peaceful marches on the 42nd anniversary of the Palestinian Land Day.

The Israeli army is repressing these peaceful protests by force, killing 28 Palestinians and wounding hundreds others. (T/RS5/RS1)
