US Scholar believes Indonesia could Resolve World Conflicts
Jakarta, 27 Jumada Awwal 1437/6 March 2016 (MINA) – The US Moslem scholar, Imam of an Islamic Center in New York, Shamsi Ali said, Indonesia is able to resolve world conflicts especially Palestinian-Israeli conflict and the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
“I want to remind that the first and primary mission of the fifth extra ordinary Summit Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jakarta is the liberation of the Aqsa Mosque. Shamsi Ali told Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Sunday.
Imam Shamsi Ali reminded, until now the Al-Aqsa Mosque is still gripped by Israeli authority.
“Therefore, OIC should make real effort, particularly through diplomatic channels, to liberate the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the occupation,” he added.
The scholar who originally from Indonesia South Sulawesi described Indonesia as the third great democracies country in the world and the country with the largest Muslim population should be in the frontline against Israeli occupation in Palestine. Indonesian people must show that they are able and indeed do its commitment to participate on resolving world conflicts.
“The extra ordinary OIC summit is indeed very urgent. It is motivated by many conflicts in the Middle East which are widespread and threaten regional and world stability, as well as the struggle of Palestinian struggle is getting forgotten, “said Imam Shamsi Ali.
The conference with themed “United for a Just Solution” trying to push a message of unity both for the Palestinians and for the OIC countries, as well as improving the Palestinian struggle through the United Nations agencies and other multi-national organizations. The event also discussed the formation of advocacy team, financial assistance, human resource development, as well as capacity building for the Palestinian people skills.(L / R03/R04)
