Sandiaga Uno to Make Indonesia as Halal World Center

Jakarta, MINA – Indonesian Candidate for Vice-President number 02, Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno HAS determined to make Indonesia as the center of the world’s halal economy. It is because he saw Indonesia has huge market potential.

“We can convert the market potential into more than $ three trillion to a more equitable economy, especially the lower and middle class,” Sandi said in the ‘Indonesian Initiative to Win, World Halal Economy Center’ dialogue in Jakarta, Friday.

This Prabowo presidential candidate pair said that Indonesia, which is a country with the world’s largest Muslim majority, must be able to take advantage of the opportunity to become the center of halal economy.

“With the support from Government, the Business World, the Empowerment of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and the entrepreneurial spirit of the Indonesian people, we can become the best halal economic center in the world,” he argued.

This former Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta targeting if he win in the next Presidential Election, he will make Indonesia the center of the world’s halal economy.

“We have planned to become the center of the halal economy in the world, we have entered the top five in the Global Islamic Economy Index for five years and in ten years we have become the number one best in the world,” he said.

He revealed that the main product of the halal economy are food and fashion.

“The main thing is food, and we also have to know the things about the food, starting from the production, the logistics, the marketers to the funding as well,” Sandi continued.

On that occasion, Sandi also had a conversation with the world’s halal economic figures from Indonesia, Prof. Irwandi Jaswir to develop a halal economy in Indonesia.

Irwandi is an Indonesian scientist and biotechnology expert. He worked as a research coordinator at the Halal Industry Research Center, International Islamic University in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. (TL/Sj/P2)
