PPCS Calls for Protecting Prisoners Against Israeli Violations

Gaza, MINA – The Palestinian Prisoner Center for Studies (PPCS) has warned that the Palestinian prisoners are being exposed to direct and indirect attempts to kill them in Israeli jails, calling for providing them with protection.

In addition to the indirect killing of prisoners using guns, director of the Center Ra’fat Hamdouna accused the Israeli prison service (IPS) of using indirect means such as medical neglect and physical and psychological torture to liquidate them, PIC reported.

Hamdouna affirmed that the IPS has special forces trained to suppress and abuse the prisoners.

He urged human rights groups and media outlets to put pressure on Israel to stop its violations against the Palestinian prisoners in its jails, describing its practices against the detainees as “illegal and against the international humanitarian law.”(T/R04/P2)
