Washington, 11 Muharram 1436/5 November 2014 (MINA)  – Jen Psaki, the official spokesperson for the US State Department, recently confirmed that Washington has no intention or plans to re-launch the peace process.

She added: “It is possible that Washington will consider re-launching the talks when officials feel that it will be met with a positive response”.

In her official statements to the press, Psaki clarified: “The Untied States continues to support a two-state solution, Middle East Monitor (MEMO) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), as reporting, Wednesday.

We urge both sides, the Israelis and the Palestinians, to make critical decisions and the necessary choices to allow this to happen.”

Psaki revealed that US Secretary of State John Kerry will be meeting with Chief Palestinian Negotiator Saeb Erekat, who is visiting Washington, in order to discuss ways to support the peace process in the Middle East, the situation in Gaza and ways to calm the situation in the occupied city of Jerusalem.

The American official did not rule out the possibility that Palestinian representatives might go to the United Nations to demand an end to the occupation. (T/P002/P3)
