Philippine Appreciates Indonesian-Made Alutsista Products

Bangkok, MINA – Philippine Defense Minister Delfin Negrillo Lorenzana expressed his appreciation and was satisfied with the purchase of Strategic Sealift Vessel (SSV) type of warship made by the Indonesian national shipyard industry PT PAL Indonesia (Persero) Surabaya.

He conveyed it to Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto on the sidelines of ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting (ADMM) Retreat and 6th ADMM Plus 2019 meeting on Saturday in Bangkok, Thailand.

On that occasion, Defense Minister Prabowo also offered other defense equipment products made in the domestic defense industry, one of them was the Medium Tank made by PT Pindad (Persero).

Besides, from being related to the defense industry, at the bilateral meeting also discussed several other matters related to the defense cooperation between the two countries, including the exchange of intelligence information, cooperation in joint patrol, to cooperation in enhancing the capabilities of military personnel of the two countries.

The Indonesian Minister of Defense supports all collaborative efforts in overcoming joint threats in the region that can be carried out by the two countries either through sea patrols, air patrols, joint exercises or any form.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Defense Minister hopes for information exchange cooperation related to the development of radicalism and terrorism movements that have an impact on security. (T/Sj/P2)
