Palestinian President Meets US Delegation

Ramallah, MINA – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas received US President Donald Trump’s Advisor Jared Kushner and Envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt here on Thursday.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the efforts to restart the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, the Palestinian News and Information Agency (WAFA) reported.

President Abbas spoke highly of Trump’s efforts to broker “a historic Middle East peace deal,” according to the report.

He pledged to work with Trump’s administration to advance the peace process in the region and overcome the difficulties lying ahead.

“Nothing is impossible if you put in an honest effort,” WAFA quoted Abbas as telling his guests.

Meanwhile, Kushner reaffirmed President Trump’s commitment to achieve a solution and to bring “prosperity and peace to all people in this area.”

He added that President Trump is very optimistic about the ability to ensure a better future for both the Palestinian and Israeli peoples and help them live side by side in peace.

The US delegation arrived here earlier today from Israel where they held talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. (T/RS5/RS1)
