Palestinian Killed over Alleged Stabbing Attempt

Jerusalem, 18 Rabiul Akhir 1438/17 January 2017 (MINA) — A Palestinian has been shot dead by Israeli forces after an alleged stabbing attempt in the occupied West Bank on Tuesday, Anadolu Agency reported.

The Israeli military said in a statement the suspect attempted to stab a soldier at a checkpoint near northern West Bank city of Tulkarem.

No soldiers were injured.

The identity of the killed Palestinian has not yet been made public.

On Monday, 17-year-old Qusay al-Umour was shot dead by Israeli forces during clashes near the city of Bethlehem.

Imour was shot and fatally wounded on Monday and was left to bleed for a long time. (T/RS05/RS01)
