Last week, Israel closed al-Aqsa Mosque and banned the Friday prayer in the site following an anti-occupation shooting which left three Palestinians killed and two Israeli police officers dead.
Later on Sunday, Israeli authorities installed metal detectors at the entrances of the Mosque in order to tighten search and inspection procedures of all Palestinians wishing to enter the Mosque.
However, Palestinians have refused the Israeli measures and continued for the second day praying in roads leading to the holy compound.(T/R04/RE1)
