Gaza, MINA – The UN envoy for the Middle East on Friday called on Israel “to move swiftly” with its investigation into a Thursday strike that killed eight family members in the central Gaza town of Deir el-Balah, Palinfo reported.
“There is no justification for attacking civilians in Gaza, or elsewhere. Such a tragedy,” Nickolay Mladenov tweeted.
“I call on Israel to move swiftly with its investigation,” He added.
“My heartfelt condolences to the family of al-Sawarkah and I wish a speedy recovery to the injured,” he added.

Previously, the Israeli army carried out at least 30 airstrikes and artillery attacks Tuesday on several areas of the Gaza Strip, according to the government’s media office in the Strip, reports Anadolu Agency.
“More than 20 Israeli airstrikes and 10 artillery shelling have been marked in different parts of the enclave since early Tuesday,” it said in a statement.
Targets included agricultural lands, residential buildings and a number of sites of Palestinian factions. (T/R04/P2)
