JORDAN BLAMES ISRAEL FOR OUTCOMES OF DESECRATION OF AL-AQSA
Amman, 28 Shawwal 1436/13 August 2015 (MINA) – Jordan holds Israel fully responsible for the continuous desecration and violation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the subsequent actions that result from it, the Anadolu Agency reported yesterday.
The official Jordanian news agency reported the official spokesman of the government Mohamed Al-Momani as saying: “Any desecration attempt of the noble yards or entrance by the Israelis is considered illegal and hostile actions against Muslims and Islamic sites.”
Al-Momani said Jordan is doing its best to protect Al-Aqsa Mosque. Adding that the guards around the mosque are doing their duties very well, stressing that his country is planning to increase their numbers in order to be more efficient.”Middle East Monitor (Memo) quoted by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA) as reporting.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian MP Yahya Al-Saud accused his government of not doing enough to stop Israeli violations of Al-Aqsa Mosque.
In a statement sent to Anadolu, he said that the government has more than “one means of pressure” to put on Israel in order to stop such “incitement” and “violations”.
Israeli authorities allowed settlers to storm Al-Aqsa Mosque yesterday through Al-Magharbeh Gate, located at the Western Wall.
Anadolu reported the Israeli spokeswoman saying Palestinian minors were stopped from entering the mosque.
Over the last week, a number of settlers stormed the mosque including Housing Minister Uri Ariel under the protection of the Israeli army and police. (T/P002/R03)
