Israeli Violation Towards Palestinian Journalists Increase to 28 Percent

Jakarta, 18 Sha’ban 1437/ 25 Mei 2016 (MINA) –  Editor in Chief of  Palestine news and Information Agency  (WAFA), Jamil Dababat, said the Israeli violation towards Palestinian journalist increased 28 percent in the last recent period.

“According to the Palestinian official statistics reported that 19 Palestinian journalist are detainees in Israeli jails,” Said Dababat at the International Conference of Islamic Media (ICIM), Jakarta, Thuersday (25/5).

He explained, throughout the years, a great number of Palestinian journalists suffered gunshots due to direct shooting from Israeli soldiers. Documented human rights watch registered a series of violations commited by the Israeli military authorities againts Palestinian journalist.

“I would like to pass few words on the Palestinian population of Jerusalem. According to recent statistics, the Palestinian population within the boundaries of occupied east Jerusalem show that they reach 300, 000 persons constituting 36 percent of east and west Jerusalem,” He Said.

Israeli ecerts huge perssure on arab Jerusalemities to get rid off 200, 000 of those Palesinian who lives outside the separating wall erected around Jerusalem by Israeli military occupation,

“We the Palestinians looking forward to have your continues informational assitances and more concetration on what is going on in the holy city of Jerusalem which has been sunk in a sea of Jewish settlements. We wish all success to your conference. Hoping to fulfill its title” peace in Palestine equals peace in the world,” He added.

The two days conference was opened by Abdurrahman Mohammad Fachir, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia in Wisma Antara (Auditorium Adhiyana) Central Jakarta. The committee has also invited the editor in chief of news agencies and media organizations from about 50 countries.

The conference  presented by  international speakers, among them Imaam Shamsi Ali (Founder Nusantara Foundation; USA), Dr. Daud Abdullah (Director of Middle East Monitor; UK), Sheikh Ahmad Shoyyan (Editor in Chief of Al-Bayan magazine; Saudi Arabia), and Ahmad Ashaaf (chief editor of the Palestinian News Agency WAFA; Palestine).

The conference will also be attended officials, scholars, community leaders and activists.(L/P008/P007/R04)
