ISRAELI KNESSET APPROVES ADDITIONAL $1.17 BILLION FUND FOR MILITARY
Gaza, 17 Shawwal 1435/13 August 2014 (MINA) – Financial committee of Israeli occupation regime parliament (Knesset) approved additional fund about $1.17 billion for Israel’s occupation regime defense budget on Tuesday after through hard debate.
Knesset did not give details where the funds will be distributed. They stated that they would take funds from several sectors such as public transportation, development of water plant and earthquake handling committee, Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA)’s correspondent in Gaza reported.
Meanwhile, opposition side in Knesset protested about secrecy of distribution and purpose of additional budget.
“We can not approve budget where we do not know what the budget for,” said one of parliamentary member, Yaakov Lizman as quoted by local media.
According to report, they will distribute the additional funds in four phases. First phase is about $286.5 million; Second phase is about $630 million from annual budget; Third phase is about $194.8 million depending on income (without detailing source of income) and forth phase is from 20 staffs of ministry of defense (without detailing who will pay for them).
Meanwhile, members of Israeli occupation regime parliament from Labour Party, Stav Shavir was expelled from the room during parliamentary session after he interrupted repeatedly by shouting.
Shavir accused that chairman of committee, Nissan Slomiansky from Bayit Yehudi party lied to Israeli public because he hided facts.
Shavir also questioned if additional budget would be used to cover budget of Bayit Yehudi party.
Other Knesset members also protested to finance department about additional fund for Israeli occupation regime defence, particularly the funds was taken from budget of public transportation. (L/K01/Syt/E01)
