Al-Quds/Jerusalem, 4 Dzulhijjah 1435/28 September 2014 (MINA) – Israeli individuals on a car have deliberately run over a Palestinian child in East al-Quds (Jerusalem), a local watchdog says.

According to the Wadi Hilweh Information Center, Israeli settlers on a car chased, cornered and run over Adam al-Risheq near his house in the Silwan neighborhood on Thursday.

The 10-year-old Palestinian child suffered injuries due to the attack and was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.

The Israeli settlers reportedly committed the inhumane act intentionally, according to the Ma’an News Agency reports monitored by Mi’raj Islamic News Agency (MINA), Saturday.

The neighborhood has been the scene of numerous clashes between Palestinians and Israeli settlers who usurped Palestinian land there.

Several Palestinians lost their lives in separate incidents after being run over by settlers in the occupied region in August.

On August 17, a Palestinian man was killed after being knocked down by an Israeli settler in East al-Quds.

Also on August 14, a 23-year-old man was hit while he was trying to cross a street near the illegal settlement of Barkan in Salfit.

Separately, on August 7, a settler ran over and injured an eight-year-old Palestinian girl in southern West Bank.

Over half a million Israelis live in more than 120 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank and East al-Quds. The international community considers the settlements as illegal. (T/P002/P3)
