Israeli Forces Arrest Palestinian Fishermen in the Gaza Sea

Gaza, MINA – Israeli Navy Forces arrested two Palestinian fishermen with their ships on Wednesday. Israeli Navy also wounded another fisherman with rubber-coated bullets at the sea of northern Gaza Strip.

Safa correspondent quoted by MINA reported that Israeli army ships opened fire and sprayed water on the fishing boat’s Saleh Mohammed Abu Riala, west of Oasis area, three nautical miles north of Gaza Strip.

It was stated that the Israeli action resulted in injuries to fisherman Mohammed Bashir Abu Riala who was hit by rubber bullets on the back.

The other fishermen managed to help and lift him onto a boat and drove him to an ambulance that took him to the hospital.

He added that Israeli soldiers also captured fishermen Khalid Khaled Abu Riala and Hazem Saleh Abu Riala, and seized a fishing boat belonging to Saleh Abu Riala.

The Israeli occupation authority announced on Tuesday morning reducing the fishing area at the Gaza Strip’s sea border. This is considered to violate a new agreement about a ceasefire with factions in Gaza mediated by Egypt and the United Nations. (T/Sj/p2)
